Binance Chain completed its recent Florence Nightingale upgrade, named after Florence Nightingale,  in the honor of her key pioneering works of building the foundation of professional nursing. The main feature that we introduced in the upgrade is the launch of the BEP8 token protocol.

The BEP8 token, which is also called the miniToken, marks a major milestone in the development of Binance Chain. This new token protocol accommodates many small, promising projects that are hindered by the current cost of getting a BEP2 token. BEP8 introduced a token protocol that only uses much smaller network resource of Binance Chain by limiting the number of total holders of the tokens, but fits best the use cases for small or micro-projects, intellectual properties, and other small token economies.

Compared to BEP2 tokens, it is more convenient and affordable to issue and list BEP8 tokens. You can spend as low as 2 BNB to issue a BEP8 token. Think of mini-tokens as something similar to the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) boards in traditional stock markets.

The BEP8 token also features the following advantages:

  • Compelling blockchain use case possibilities in fields such as microfinancing, copyright tokenization, community incentives, and more.
  • Direct listing against BNB and/or BUSD without voting process of validators.
  • Opportunity to get elevated to BEP2 token when the miniToken gets enough liquidity and maturity.

MiniToken Trading

A new trading venue is introduced to enable miniToken trading. The new trading page is marked as “miniToken”. Please double-check the trading page URL before sending any transactions to Binance Chain.

DYOR

If you are directed by any pages to Binance DEX Trading, please pay attention whether you are trading on main board or MiniToken board, as they are quite different.

The information of miniToken on this trading page and explorer, for example, token URI,  is provided by the token issuers, which are not reviewed or guaranteed by others. Please do your own research before investing in any miniToken. If the user is still unsure after research, he/she is encouraged to avoid the product entirely. There can be tokens created by scammers, but we believe the openness remains helpful for the community, especially for experimental innovations.
